Red Lilies For His Tomb

red lilies grow around the open tomb
grow wild thick and abundant
ruby stars glittering next to pale stone
red lilies...a sign of hope and love

red lilies the color of his robe
red lilies his body worn blooded
red lilies a mother weeps her tears
red lilies the sky is tinged red with blood

the end has come with the edge of night
no time to grieve his cruel death
no time hold him just once more
time to lie his poor body in the tomb

weeping can be heard in the dusk
wrapped in cloth he lies lonely in borrowed tomb
darkness comes and a mother must leave
the tomb is sealed guarded by none but red lilies

on the third day sunrise shows the truth
the stone has moved the tomb empty
no body lies within it's dark shadows
there remains but lovely red lilies
red lilies to proclaim his triumph
יש לו לבוא על פני מוות ואנחנו חינם

Hi friend, since it is advent I thought I would use Hebrew in the last line. My translator did not have Aramaic. I am not Jewish but thought it fit with the time of our Church year. It means, I think He has come across death and we are free
Glad you liked it.
